2010 European Wine Blogger’s Conference Announced! Vienna, We Meet at Last

Winner of the EWBC Drawing to Vinoble!

By ryan On March 1, 2010 · Leave a Comment · In Announcements

We are excited to announce a blogger from Budapest, Hungary, who will not only be attending the European Wine Bloggers Conference in Vienna, but also the International Sweet Wine Fair, Vinoble, in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain. Originally from San Francisco, Molly Hovorka is a food, wine and travel blogger seeking the essential gift we all want from life: balance. If she ever finds this elusive experience, may she become the keynote speaker of our conference :)

That said, Ms. Hovorka will soon be prancing in the gorgeous Andalusian sunshine, eating fresh fish, sipping on Oloroso Sherry and basking in the glory the of the Alcázar, an Arab fortress from the XI century – the official venue of the conference. This fortress also features the Palacio de Villavecencio, a Renaissance building constructed alongside an old mosque surrounded by stunning Arabic gardens. Jealous yet? We are!!

Held bi-annually, the 2008 edition showcased 400 wineries and was attended by over 1,000 people from 20 different countries.

The 2010 edition will feature tastings on Tokaji, Fondillon, sweet Moscatels from around the world, Sweet wines of Roussanne, Port wine, Wines of Montilla-Moriles, sweet wines of Bordeaux, sweet wines of the Canary Islands, sweet wines of the New World, Palo Cortado, Fino, Amontillado, Biological sweet wines and a Chateau Y’chem tasting, to just name a few.

We would like to thank Vinoble, and the Ayutamiento de Jerez, for generously supporting not only the 2009 European Wine Bloggers Conference in Lisbon, Portugal, but also providing one of our bloggers with an amazing opportunity to taste sweet wine from around the world!

We hope Molly will keep us up to date with her adventures, as we’ll all be living vicariously through her; and if you’ll be attending Vinoble, please get in touch with her so she can meet some of our amazing posse!
