Session 2 – Stream 1: Wine Tourism and Social Media Session 2 – Stream 2: Tech Tools and Gadgets

Session 4 – Stream 2: Blogging 101

By ryan On October 23, 2009 · Leave a Comment · In Sessions

Time: 12:15 – 1:00 pm

Roundtable Contributors: Ryan Opaz and Andre Ribeirinho

Theme: This is the only session that will be dramatically different. After last year’s EWBC, we had several requests for a “basics on blogging” course for people who are just getting into blogging or who have specific questions that they want answered. Hence, the creation of Blogging 101.

Andre and Ryan have been blogging for over 5 years and they know the tools and tricks to make your site work well. During this course, they will offer you a chance to ask any question relevant to wine blogging in an informal and carefree session.

If you are coming to the “Blogging 101″ session, please bring a list of questions you might have from how to best link text to what widgets to put in your sidebar. And remember, the only stupid questions are the ones not asked.

Questions: What questions do you have? Add to the one’s below in the comments!

  • What widgets are worth having on your site?
  • How do you install a photo gallery?
  • How do you know when your site needs a face-lift?
  • Is it better to have a blog separate from your website or integrated within?
  • What’s the difference between the various blogging platforms?
  • Is there such a thing as “too much information” on your site?
  • How you provoke people to comment on posts?
  • Should you always respond to comments? And if so, how?
  • What’s considered a useful and effective link?
